Let me introduce my Flatmates by Thomas
Article published on 13 of February by Thomas
Moving to Budapest was both exciting and a little scary. Leaving for such a long time, stepping into a new city, meeting new people, and adapting to a different culture. But now, I can say that one of the best parts of this adventure has been sharing it with my flatmates.
In our flat, we are nine people from all over the world, each with our own stories and backgrounds. Let me introduce you to everyone:
Let me introduce to everyone:
- Sandro a Georgian studying IT at BME, always deep into coding, working, or discussing ideas with us.
- Nyama from Mongolia, studying mathematics at BME, and probably the smartest one in the flat.
- Juan a Turkish guy studying graphic design in Budapest, always sketching something cool.
- Lana Lebanese, full of energy and always ready to explore the city.
- Juanita Norwegian, here to train her dancing skills and probably the most disciplined of us all.
- Amber Belgian, doing a veterinary internship.
- Aubin, Jimmy, and me – The three French ones, bringing a bit of France to Budapest.
Living with so many people from different cultures is an incredible experience. Every day is a mix of different languages, habits, and traditions. Some nights, we cook together or go to restaurants from our home countries to share our cultures. Other times, we just sit around in the living room, sharing stories and laughing.
Of course, living in such a big flat isn’t always easy. Sharing bathrooms can be a challenge (but luckily, we have three, so it’s manageable). To keep things organized, we made a cleaning schedule, and every Saturday is cleaning day. Balancing everyone’s schedules can be tricky, but in the end, we make it work. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.
Budapest already feels like home. And with this crazy group of flatmates, I know there are many more unforgettable moments to come.
