Three Weeks in Budapest: Between Workouts, Massages, and Walks by Mylord

Article published on 24 March by Mylord

It has now been three weeks since I arrived in Budapest, and even though I haven't done anything particularly extraordinary, this period has been quite eventful. One of the highlights was my intense return to working out. I got a gym membership because, as we said during the presentation, this trip represents a fresh start for us. And with intense workouts come muscle soreness. To try and relieve the pain, I decided to get a massage.

However, this massage did not go as I had hoped. I felt like the masseurs weren’t really professionals, and instead of relaxing me, I ended up feeling even more pain afterward. Maybe my body was too tense, or perhaps their technique just didn’t suit me. Either way, I’m not sure I’ll be trying that again anytime soon.

Apart from working out and dealing with soreness, I spent a lot of time exploring the city. Budapest is full of surprises, and even without a set plan, you always stumble upon impressive landmarks, sometimes even places I had never heard of. My nighttime walks also brought some unexpected encounters. During one of them, I met a girl with whom I got along really well. We spent quite some time talking, and she even braided my hair. An unexpected but nice encounter that added a bit of novelty to my daily routine.

Another thing I love here is the variety of supercars you see on the streets. Being a big car enthusiast, I can’t help but take out my phone every time I see one to snap a picture. Budapest is really an interesting city for that, with rare and impressive models that you don’t see every day.

In summary, these three weeks have been quite relaxed but enjoyable. Between working out, exploring, meeting new people, and admiring supercars, I’ve started to settle into this city, which is slowly beginning to feel familiar. Looking forward to seeing what the next few weeks have in store!
