Last news from Budapest by Thomas
I think this will be my last post. After 4 months in Budapest its time to leave this beautiful city! But before I left Budapest, I invited a friend for my last week to pass vacation and to discover Budapest for him. What we did? Simply we visited Budapest for whole week, we did so many things in only one week. For example we visited the Firsherman bastion and Mathias Church (iconic place in Budapest) and the Hungarian parliament. We also did lots of parties during this week.
The Hungarian Parliement
I couldn’t imagine leaving Budapest without visiting the hungarian parliament, but we couldn’t book online due to the tourism. For the record after a endless party we go to the parliament at 7am in front of the doors to get a ticket after that we go to sleep. At 6pm we went to the parliament for a guided tour. The Hungarian parliament is amazing, I think its one of the most beautiful buildings in Budapest. When you are inside you can see gold everywhere, the real gold is place above 3 meters. And the building is huge, 691 rooms and 20 kilometers of stairs!
Know i will talk about my last night in Budapest
We went to the restaurant with our flatmates to talk and share a last moment together. I think the hardest thing about The Erasmus is saying goodbye to my new friend, I hope one day our paths will cross again ! After the restaurant we went to a pool bar and the other French guys joined us. After we took the decision to walk until Buda Castle one last time. we arrived at buda castle in the middle of the night with Luca, it was very cool because we were alone in that location. After we went at Luca’s home for a last goodbye.
Walking and thinking in the middle of the night
At the end of the night I walked alone through Budapest during the sunrise, this was very beautiful with the reflections of the light on the water, finally when I arrived at home I realized I walked 19 kilometers it was definitely a night to remember.
Final words
This trip was excellent, at the beginning I was scared to leave my family and to go in foreigner country. But I didn’t regret anything only the time the last 4 months went be so fast. I was completely out of my comfort zone and really enjoyed the Erasmus experience. I met new friends. I discovered new country (Austria and Poland) and I improved my English so for me it’s a successful trip!
